File Preparation Guide

Ensure your design meets our guidelines for the best print quality. Following these steps will help create a flawless final product.

1. Use High-Resolution Images

For sharp and vibrant prints, make sure your image has a minimum resolution of 300 DPI (dots per inch) or PPI (pixels per inch). Low-resolution images may appear blurry or pixelated when printed.

2. Design in RGB Color Mode

Most design software defaults to RGB, and that's absolutely fine! We convert RGB to CMYK for printing, as that’s the color mode used by our printers. However, for the most accurate color reproduction in printing, it's best to design directly in CMYK. If your design software allows it, using the "U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2" CMYK working space will help achieve the most precise color results.

3. Avoid Transparent Colors and Gradients

Transparent or semi-transparent colors in your design will be converted to a halftone effect during printing. Halftone is a process where tiny dots simulate gradients, which may change how your design looks on the final product. For the best print outcome, avoid using transparency or gradients in your design.

4. Save as PNG with Transparent Background

Save your file in PNG format to maintain transparency around your design. This ensures there are no unwanted backgrounds when transferred to the fabric. While all image file types are accepted, we recommend using PNG, PDF, or vector formats for optimal results.

5. Outline or Rasterize Your Fonts

If your design contains text, outline or rasterize your fonts to prevent any font-related issues. This makes sure your text looks exactly as intended.

6. Size Accordingly

Ensure that your design is sized to fit the selected transfer sheet. Refer to our size options and adjust your design to avoid any resizing that could distort the image.

Disclaimer: While 99% of our prints closely match the original design in color and most clients experience no color issues, please note that exact color matching cannot be 100% guaranteed. For the most accurate color reproduction, we recommend designing in Photoshop using the "U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2" CMYK color space and exporting your design as a PNG with a transparent background.
